AFRICAN SUNBURST

Another jacket inspired by the skies, the land and the people of Africa. The friendliness and joyfulness of the people I met in Malawi always delighted and inspired me. We camped in Malawi next to a village--the people of the village were fisherman--their hand knotted fishing nets in combination with the brightly colored boats created the idea for this jacket. The woven design I selected for the handwoven dyed brown fabric imitates the nets while the knitted fabric represents the colorful boats--the entire jacket is a "sunburst" of color.
