Louise S. Meyer has dedicated her professional career to making the work of rural artisans in northern Cote d'Ivoire and southern Ghana better known and appreciated in the USA and in Europe through educational exchange programs which have led to the rebirth of pride in cultural identity; and to the passing on of the craft to the next generation.

She has served as the representative of the Union of Craft Cooperatives of the North (UGAN) of Cote d'Ivoire first in Switzerland and now in the USA for the past 15 years. She also represents the family business of Master Kente Weaver Gilbert "Bobbo" Ahiagble composed of 30 traditional weavers living in the villages of Denu and Agbozume in the Volta Region of Ghana. In 1998 she co-authored a children's book with Bobbo, entitled Master Weaver from Ghana.
